{this post is part of kate's five minute friday blog, the word given to write about in five minutes, park}
So I'm packing up the bags, stuffing them real deep, making sure to squeeze in all I need to take with me, forgetting nothing.
It seems like I just took this trip.
I find myself taking them a lot lately.
Just me, my heavy load and some real deep honest conversation.
I don't need to go far for this trip. I never really do, maybe that's why I like taking them so often.
I have to search deep inside, pull out the roots that shouldn't be there and park them there right at His feet.
Overflowing with all the worries, anxieties, pains, and frustrations my bag lays heaping at the edge of my sanity and I have no choice but to lay it down.
These problems can't be solved by my will power.
These worries can't be washed away by my wishful thinking.
All I can do is park them there right at his feet.
All of this is yours, every hurt, pain, disappointment, rejection, mistake, all of it is yours.
Peace be mine knowing that God has got this, that God will see all things through, that God is the anchor that holds the ship of my life in place and that He will never stir me wrecked beyond His grace repair.
I take a lot of these trips.
These trips to the park where it's all laid down.
Beautiful! I love the way you talk about packing it all up and placing it all at His feet! These are things I need to do myself!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kadie! You and me both, placing it all at His feet all the time.
DeleteBonnie, you spoke top my heart with both words and pictures. I wish I could place the demon-memories at His feet! Perhaps tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteAnd I got your name right for the second week in a row! Ooh-rah!

Hey Andrew, thank you for stopping by. You know what? You can leave those demon-memories at His feet. I'm sure He could slay them for you.
DeleteI like the way you used this word. Parking and leaving. Like a Goodwill drop off that does your heart good. And that you said you go frequently :)
ReplyDeleteSomer, love this..like a goodwill drop off that does your heart good. So right!
DeleteThis is a beautiful reminder to truly lay down our troubles at the foot of the cross. I think I need to "weed my worries" more often and get them out of the way. Thanks for a thoughtful way to consider doing just that.
ReplyDeletePeace.

Thank you, Patricia! I'm needing to weed my worries constantly so I can enter Hs rest more and more. Thank you for visiting.
DeleteBonnie, beautiful post and pictures. :) I've taken a number of those trips too. How crazy am I to think I can carry my burdens for very long?! Sometimes I've found the first step is choosing to believe God is faithful. Then I am more ready to park my burdens at His feet. Thank you so much for putting your words the way you did. They spoke to my heart.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, Jeanne. I agree the first step is choosing to believe God is faithful..so good!
